The United Kingdom Ready to Use Immobilized Russian Holdings to Fund the Ukrainian Military Campaign
The British government is set to progress with using the total value of immobilized Russia's assets to support Ukraine's defense operations, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has announced.
In a collective announcement, the leaders of the Britain, France, and Germany emphasized that this unified step would heighten pressure on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and compel the Russian Federation to come to the table.
They clarified that the decision would be carried out in close cooperation with the America.
British penalties have immobilized more than £25bn of Russian resources since Russia initiated its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. However, until now, resources allocated to the Ukrainian government using Russia's holdings had only been sourced from gains and dividends generated on them.
Sir Keir informed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were aligned in their goal to push forward toward utilizing the full value of the frozen Russia's state assets to halt hostilities.
