Former Doctor Accused of Assault Charges Against 38 Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities have announced that a former physician has been charged with carrying out assaults against 38 individuals who were under his care.

Details of the Grave Charges

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.

A senior prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Police Inquiry

These allegations follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

List of Offences

The charging documents said the 45 charges he is charged with:

  • 15 counts of assault.
  • 17 counts of penetrative assault.
  • 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • One count of attempted penetrative assault.

Police have asked anyone with concerns to get in touch with the investigating team.
